When installing Paragon Hard Disk Manager, I cannot insert the
registration keys because the bottom paste button disappears when
copying a key with the paste button above. I use 120 DPI for my
display setting and the recording GUI is simply broken in that mode.
No data is ever recorded in the Inserts tab. Should be easy to test.

If I revert to 96 DPI, I can insert the product key, but not the
serial number which is supposed to be placed in the second entry
field just below the product key.

The script shows the insertion for the first key and has data in both
Message and Window columns. The second insertion only has data in
the Message column. I made sure the correct entry box had focus before
clicking pause and pasting the second key into the record panel. I played
with this for quite a while and could not get the second insert to work. I also
saw a lot of blank entries in the script and it would not playback the install
at all until I manually deleted all the blank entries. Hopefully someone
can help fix this issue.

Ok. I will download and test it. Now I switch on 'Modify own post' option on this forum.

Alex,

You can only download the demo version (hdm_suite_demo.msi) which does not ask for the
registration keys. I just ran a quick test and was able to insert Name and Organization
without problems at 96 DPI. The problem with the script not playing back the install is still there though
because of all the blank script entries.

No way to do Name and Organization insertions with the Demo when running display settings at 120 DPI.

Thanks

Alex,

Here is some more information on the recording problems. If I run the same tests (96 DPI) mentioned in my
previous posts under VMware Workstation, the script does not contain any blank entries and the install playback
runs okay.

My native system is XP SP3 + all security fixes. My graphic card is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650.
The VMware machine uses its own graphic display drivers which may be the reason why virtual versus native script
results are different.

Multiset record panel using !20 DPI is also broken under VMware and no insertions are processed or recorded.

In some cases the problem in working ATI Utilities. In 'Task Manager' you will see some processes: 'atixx.exe' and similar. Try to close them before recording.

I disabled the ATI Hotkey Poller service (ATI External Event Utility for Windows) so it would not start, but
I still get all those empty script entries. If you want, I can send you the .mst file since I do not see any options
for adding an attachment to my append

Alex,

were you able to verify my problem with insert running at 120 DPI?

I verified some applications with DPI 120 and them worked good. I think problem in one application.

I'm talking about the recording panel when you hit pause and try to insert a string.
I tried different apps and I cannot insert the paste. What steps are you using to do
the insert and which apps did you try that worked for you?

I will try those.

To be clear, I can paste into the record panel, but I have not found a way to insert
from the record panel to the target field because the bottom paste button disappears
and I have no way to do the insert.

Alex,

After further research, I found out what was causing the blank entries in the
recording script. The problem happens if you have the Lenovo Auto Scroll Utility
installed. It is part of the Hotkey Features Integration package located here.

The file that causes the problem is C:\Program Files\Lenovo\VIRTSCRL\virtscrl.exe
If I kill the process, recording does not add blank entries to the script. The description
of the Autoscroll utility is as follows:

<AutoScroll Utility>
This program provides a function to improve usability for window operation.
Window position of the foreground application is automatically adjusted.
